The Making of Syante’s “A Little Sunshine”

LA-based singer-songwriter Syante has been doing music most of her life, and for the past few years, she’s been fully stepping into her own sound as an artist.

Her process starts simply with voice notes on her phone. Then it grows through tinkering on the piano and guitar, studio sessions, and finally the stage, where the song becomes something shared. That full-circle journey from idea to live performance is exactly what you’re seeing here with Syante’s song, “A Little Sunshine.”

“I’ve always felt this intrinsic pull toward making music,” said Syante, who has been doing music professionally for three years. “Even when I could have chosen a more practical path, this is the thing I keep coming back to. What really lights me up is storytelling, taking emotions or experiences that feel intangible and turning them into something people can feel and connect with.”

Her music lives in that emotional space where storytelling meets clarity — the kind of songs that help you name what you were already feeling but couldn’t quite say yet. Her upcoming single “Ain’t You” captures the quiet realization that a relationship isn’t right for you, and the deep exhale that comes with letting go. Safe to say: Syante is turning real-life moments into songs people carry with them.
