The mission of the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture (LACDAC) is to advance arts, culture, and creativity throughout LA County. LACDAC provides leadership, services, and support in areas including grants and technical assistance for nonprofit organizations, countywide arts education initiatives, commissioning and care for civic art collections, research and evaluation, access to creative pathways, professional development, free community programs, and cross sector creative strategies that address civic issues. All of their work is framed by a longstanding commitment to fostering access to the arts and the vision of a region in which arts, culture, and creativity are integral to every aspect of civic life for all people and communities.

This program will provide 128 university and community college students with paid, on-the-job experience in arts organizations across LA. LA County Department of Arts and Culture just announced a new paid high school internship program supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies that will connect public high schoolers with local arts and cultural organizations. Beginning this summer, 48 rising public high school seniors will receive paid summer internships at 22 local arts and cultural institutions, gaining hands-on work-based learning and professional experience, as well as college preparation training.
