Emely Gonzalez, 22, is a Silver Lake-based dancer proving ballet has room for every story. A first-generation Latina and senior in the prestigious Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA program, she blends contemporary ballet with hip-hop, house music, and powerful storytelling to create work that breaks tradition. Emely credits Inner-City Arts with helping launch her dance journey and hopes to pay it forward by one day opening a nonprofit for young dancers from underserved communities.
